Quennie and Zach’s wedding day at Saybrook Point Resort & Marina in Old Saybrook, Connecticut was the most beautiful start to our 2026 wedding season. Their day was dreamy, peaceful, joy-filled, and full of the kind of quiet sweetness that makes a wedding feel truly unforgettable.
From the very beginning, Quennie was such a joy to work with. She trusted me throughout the entire planning process, even letting me weigh in on getting ready locations and photo timing. It is always such a gift when a couple lets us into the planning in that way, because it allows the day to flow so much more naturally. Quennie and Zach were both so laid back, so kind, and so present with the people around them.
Their wedding ceremony took place at St. Margaret Church in Madison, Connecticut, a beautiful and meaningful setting for the beginning of their marriage. The ceremony carried such a peaceful sense of faith, family, and reverence. Zach’s brother had recently been ordained into the Catholic Church just in time for the wedding, which made the day feel even more meaningful. It was touching to witness two brothers stepping into lifelong sacraments so close together, one entering marriage, and the other giving his life in service to the Church. It was a quiet but beautiful reminder of love, vocation, and the way God works through family in such personal ways.
After their ceremony, everyone made their way to Saybrook Point Resort & Marina in Old Saybrook for the rest of the celebration. The weather kept us on our toes all day. It was one of those thunderstormy spring days where we had no idea exactly when the rain would come, how heavy it would be, or how long it would last. But we trusted that God would give us the window we needed for outdoor portraits, and I am so grateful that He did. The storm passed within about ten minutes, leaving us with the most beautiful light and the peaceful marina backdrop that made their portraits feel so romantic.
Saybrook Point Resort & Marina was the perfect setting for their wedding reception. Located right on the Connecticut shoreline, the venue has such a dreamy coastal feel with marina views, soft waterfront light, and a classic New England charm. It was also the first wedding of the season at the venue, and you could feel the excitement from Katie and the whole team. They were so happy to be back in wedding season, and they were incredibly hospitable to us as vendors. They truly made us feel welcomed, cared for, and important throughout the day.
Quennie and Zach’s day was elegant without feeling overly formal, emotional without feeling heavy, and full of genuine love from beginning to end. From the getting ready moments, to their church ceremony at St. Margaret Church, to the short break in the rain that gave us such beautiful outdoor photos by the marina, everything came together so gracefully.
It was such an honor to photograph this wedding and to witness the beginning of Quennie and Zach’s marriage. Their day was a perfect reminder that sometimes the most beautiful wedding days are not the ones where everything feels perfectly predictable, but the ones where everyone stays peaceful, trusts the process, and lets the day unfold with grace.
Quennie and Zach, thank you for allowing us to be part of such a beautiful day. Your wedding was a joy to photograph, and we are so grateful we were there to capture it.
