A Spring Wedding at The Barns at Wesleyan Hills

Dannica and Will’s wedding was on May 2nd at The Barns at Wesleyan Hills. It was our second wedding of the 2026 season, and we were SO excited for this one.

Dodging the Storm on the Way to Middletown

The day started with a little drama. We drove straight through an intense thunderstorm on the way to Middletown. We kept wondering if the weather was going to hold out.

Somehow, the second we arrived, the sky opened up. The weather turned absolutely perfect. It felt like the calm after the storm in the best possible way.

The Barns at Wesleyan Hills Wedding Grounds

The grounds at The Barns are already beautiful. After the rain, everything looked even more vibrant and alive. The willow trees, pond, greenery, and historic barn created such a beautiful scene.

It was the perfect setting for a spring wedding in Connecticut. Everywhere you turned felt photogenic.

Laid Back Wedding Portraits Around the Property

Dannica and Will are both so genuine and laid back. They fully trusted me throughout the day and went with the flow. That always makes such a difference creatively.

Because of that, we were able to capture so many portraits around the property. I’m honestly so happy we did. Every part of the venue gave us something different to work with.

Private Vows with Live Violin Music

One of the most memorable parts of the day was during the ceremony. Instead of sharing their vows over a microphone, they exchanged them privately.

They hired a violinist to play during that moment. Their guests were able to quietly enjoy the music. Meanwhile, Dannica and Will stayed in their own little world.

It was such an intentional and meaningful choice. It was honestly one of the sweetest ceremony ideas we’ve seen.

Dannica looked absolutely stunning in her gown from Ve’Lace Bridal. The floral design by Blissful Blooms Studio tied everything together beautifully. The flowers felt soft, romantic, and perfect for spring.

This wedding felt peaceful, joyful, and effortless from start to finish. We’re so grateful we got to be a part of it all.
