Dannica and Will’s wedding on May 2nd at The Barns at Wesleyan Hills was our second wedding of the 2026 season, and we were SO excited for this one. The day honestly started out a little dramatic. We drove straight through an intense thunderstorm on the way to Middletown and kept wondering if the weather was going to hold out. Somehow, the second we arrived, the skies completely opened up and the weather turned absolutely perfect. It felt like the calm after the storm in the best possible way. The grounds at The Barns are already beautiful on their own, but after the rain everything looked extra vibrant and alive. The willow trees, the pond, the rolling greenery, and the historic barn all came together to create such an incredible setting for a spring wedding in Connecticut. Everywhere you turned felt photogenic. Dannica and Will are genuinely some of the most laid back and easygoing people. They fully trusted me throughout the day and were willing to just go with the flow, which always makes such a difference creatively. Because of that, we were able to spend a ton of time capturing portraits all around the property, and I’m honestly so happy we did. Every part of the venue gave us something different to work with, from the soft romantic greenery outside to the warm glow inside the barn. One of the most memorable parts of the day was during the ceremony. Instead of sharing their vows over a microphone, they hired a violinist to play while they exchanged private vows with each other. Their guests were able to quietly enjoy the music while Dannica and Will stayed completely in their own little world for those moments. It was such an intentional and meaningful choice, and honestly one of the sweetest ceremony ideas we’ve seen. We also have to mention how incredible the team at CT Wedding Group always is. From the moment we arrived, the hospitality was amazing. Eddie and the entire staff were so welcoming, organized, and attentive all day long. They truly know how to make everyone feel taken care of, not just the couple but every vendor and guest involved too. And the food somehow lives up to the hype every single time. Connecticut Wedding Group genuinely has some of the best wedding food around. Dannica looked absolutely stunning in her gown from Ve’Lace Bridal , and the floral design by Blissful Blooms Studio tied everything together beautifully with such soft, romantic spring textures and colors. This wedding felt peaceful, joyful, and effortless from start to finish, and we’re so grateful we got to be a part of it all.
