Emily & Scott’s Fall Wedding at The Links at Union Vale

Scott and Emily’s wedding at The Links at Union Vale in Lagrangeville, New York was one of those wedding days that felt completely true to the couple from beginning to end.

It was cold and windy November weather but you would never guess that from the photos! There was that unmistakable autumn crispness in the air. But honestly, the landscape did not disappoint for even a second. The rolling views at The Links at Union Vale were so beautiful, and the light that day was absolutely unreal. There is something so special about fall light, especially when it comes through soft and golden over such an open, scenic property.

Even with the wind, the whole day had this peaceful, joyful energy to it. Scott and Emily handled everything with such ease, and that really says so much about who they are together.

Scott is a photographer himself, which always feels like such an honor. Photographing another photographer’s wedding is never something I take lightly, because I know how much the images matter. His niche is bird photography, which made one of the most unforgettable parts of the day even more meaningful.

Scott and Emily are huge animal lovers, and they incorporated that into their wedding in the coolest way. They hired Falconry Excursions to bring birds of prey to the wedding, and a falcon was even their ring bearer. A falcon. As the ring bearer. It was such a personal, unexpected, and memorable detail, and it fit them so perfectly.

I loved that their wedding did not feel like it was following a rulebook. It felt like Scott and Emily. They made space for the things they loved, the things that felt meaningful to them, and the things that would make the day more fun and more personal. That is always one of my favorite things to witness on a wedding day.

And Emily. I can still hear her laugh. She has this beautiful inner peace about her that is honestly unmatched. She is so down to earth, so joyful, and so easy to be around. Scott and Emily together were just such a treat to photograph. Their love felt steady, warm, and full of laughter.

The portraits were so beautiful because the light was just showing off for us. The autumn tones, the open landscape, the wind, and the crisp air all came together in such a romantic way. There was so much movement and life in the images, and it really matched the feeling of the day.

After a heartfelt celebration with their favorite people, they ended the night with Walter’s Hot Dogs food truck, which was a total hit with their guests. Such a fun way to wrap up the evening, and honestly, the perfect relaxed and crowd-pleasing ending to a wedding day that was already so full of personality.
